Things to Do
Once you have decided to visit Thailand, the next thing to do is write your must see list. And that’s not an easy task, for sure. There is a lot to do in Thailand so take your pencil and write down some ideas.
Temples
There are over 31,000 temples spread in Thailand, all known as “wat”. There are two types of wat: those which carry religious functions and those which are used only for living quarters for monks. Also, temples are either Royal or Common.
In Thailand there are about 200 Royal temples, out of which the following six are of the highest grade: Wat Phra Chetuphon, Wat Mahathat, Wat Suthat and Wat Arun in Bangkok , Wat Phra Pathom Chedi in Nakhon Pathom Province, Wat Phra Buddhabat in Saraburi Province.

Beaches
The beaches are one of the main reasons travelers flock to Thailand. The sea is calm, the sand is white and the water is warm.
Some of the beach destinations in Thailand include:
- Phuket : Thailand’s largest island and where most of the resorts are located.
- Samui: it’s located off the east coast of peninsular Thailand. Prices are rather high but it’s perfect if you like the laid-back attitude
- Hua Hin & Cha-Am: these are popular among those who really want to escape the crowds
- Pattaya: located at less than 2 hours from Bangkok, it’s a popular weekend destination for those wanting to escape the city
- Samet & Chang Islands: east of Pattaya you’ll find these smaller islands, popular among backpackers.

Shopping
Thailand is one of the best places to go shopping in Asia. You’ll find a lot of places to shop in – from the popular malls to the bustling street markets – and you can buy pretty much anything you want. Bangkok and Chiang Mai have two of the best night street markets in Asia.
Chatuchak Weekend Market is the largest market in Thailand and in the world. Located in Bangkok, it’s estimated that it receives between 200,000 and 300,000 visitors each day. However, most stalls are only open during the weekend.
